Steering Committee
The long version:
The +Action Steering Committee is Positive Action’s longest-running group. It has been meeting regularly since October 2003. The Steering Committee meets one Wednesday per month from 4:00-5:30 at The Center and is organized by the Program Coordinator.
The purpose of the Steering Committee is to guide the Positive Action program. Group members make recommendations, suggest activities, act as a sounding board for new ideas, and give a consumers’ perspective on everything. Steering committee members are encouraged to share information on upcoming events and services that may be of interest to others. The Steering Committee is a working/planning group, and in the past members have provided a great deal of time, energy and insight to the +Action program. This includes: developing the +Action name and logo, planning and executing Poz Seminar Weekend 2004, guiding the development of Social Marketing messages and materials, and promoting +Action services and events in the community.
Anyone who wants to do something about stopping the spread of HIV in San Diego is welcome to come to a meeting!
